The installation tool has two functions, each achieved by simply re-positioning a moveable pin. With the pin passing through the rear hole of the claw, installation of a Pandrol Fastclip assembly in the ‘switched off’ position is carried out. When the pin is re-positioned to the front hole of the claw and the installation operation repeated, the assembly will be in the ‘switched on’ position.

Instructions for Sleeper Lifter LP12608 The scissor action of the frame opens in order to locate the pincers of the tool into the sides of the shoulder with the clip in the ‘Parked’ position. Place the hook of the tool over the head of the rail, and as the body of the tool rises the scissor action closes the pincers and lock into the shoulder. Once located grasp both handles of the ‘Tee’ bar, and stand ‘naturally’ with feet apart then move one leg half a pace back, to prevent loss of balance during sleeper lifting. Push the handle away to lift any ‘dropped’ sleeper if ballast conditions do not support the sleepers engaging with the foot of the rail. These tools should be used in pairs to lift the sleeper to locate both rails simultaneously with the rail seats of the sleeper. The sleeper lifter can used on the same rail seat as the FASTCLIP installer, by locating between the hooks of the installation tool.

All STEL hand-tools can be supplied with optional insulated handles, which have recently been upgraded to 32mm diameter cylindrical straight handles Installation Instructions • Insert center leg of clip into housing. • Place pivoted hook over the inside of the front arch of clip with foot of PANPULLER behind clip housing and ensure lip of the hook is under the front arch. • Taking up a natural stance with feet apart, move one leg half a pace back to prevent loss of balance. Stand behind the PANPULLER, with both hands on tee handle at top of PANPULLER, pull strongly towards chest until refusal. • The PANPULLER automatically pulls clip to the correct position When correctly installed the centre leg of ALL types of e-PLUS clips, protrude beyond the shoulder to hold the side-insulator in the correct position. This tool is 'handed' to hold the insulator in position during clip insertion. This means that the tool cannot be used for extraction of the clip.
